I wanted to be a nanny for so many different reasons, my family thought I was nuts, and still supported me. I went through an agency in Kaysville who found 2 families that chose me one was in Ohio and the other in Connecticut, after talking over the phone with both families I chose to go to the Meyer family in CT. They had 2 kids Calvin 3 and Audrie 1.
It was diffently a new world to me being outside of the Utah bubble, I was able to learn and grow and really appreciate my family. I was able to gain new and lasting friendships with the other nannies that I had met at the singles ward. A group of girls Kasi, Shauna, Wendy, Kristen, and Maryann all took me under their wings the very first time I had met them, and we have all been friends since! We even moved in with eachother when we all got back home. I found out what a small world it really is, since 2 girls that I went to school with Stephanie Saunders and Shelice Taylor showed up one day at church. So I was able to get to know them alittle more too. I was able to expierence and see alot of new things. Like the Statue of Liberty, the stinky streets of New York, Ground Zero, the metro, the Subway, Washington D.C., the Monument, The White House, The Washington D.C. temple, how beautiful and Green CT really is, West Point(Army), Grand Central Station, Palmyra, the Sacred Grove, Joseph Smith's home, and Central Park. I even was able to get introduced to my fantastic hubby (Thanks SHAUNA!). I will always treasure the time I spent back East and the people that I was able to meet. Also for the experience of early motherhood and for making me a stronger person.
